The Lister Arms has been welcoming visitors to the idyllic village of Malham since the 17th century when it was built by Thomas Lister of Gisburn Park as a traditional coaching inn. Many of the original features have been carefully preserved, including a large Inglenook fireplace complete with wood-burning stove – a welcome sight for chilly walkers in the autumn and winter months.
Set right on the village green, it’s a perfect spot for morning coffees, a light lunch or something more substantial – food is seasonal, local and all freshly prepared with daily dishes to showcase the finest produce from Yorkshire suppliers. Current menus are always available on the website – listerarms.co.uk
Enjoy a pint of Thwaites award-winning cask ales – including the ever-popular Wainwright, plus guest beers and seasonal ales are on offer. There’s an extensive wine by the glass selection and a good value wine list to select from too and free WiFi throughout.
Children, well-behaved dogs, muddy boots and cycles are all welcome in the bar – and the dining room can be hired for private parties too.
Guest rooms are quaint and cosy, all en-suite and some with stunning views of the village and Malham Tarn
